Let's talk procrastination!
(Heads up! Today's write-up is more of a rant ✨💅)
Thankfully though, as the Lord reminds me daily, the moment I start doing something, the feeling does eventually fade away. And no, it’s not because my mind is occupied by what I am doing that I don’t have the time to think about life but rather the fact that doing something enables me to think beyond the surface and to actually find the root to my problems.
Sure, the truth does hit me very forcefully sometimes and I genuinely just want to crawl back to doing nothing and yes there are times when I cave in and do end up not attempting to solve what’s happening, but by God’s grace, on the days I do end up taking action, I first strategise and then work upon it.
Because here’s the plain fact about procrastination. It’s not going to fully leave you even if you constantly have something to do for a particular season and while that might sound sad, it does help in a busy season because it helps you rejuvenate. But for the rest of us who aren’t that busy, procrastination might not be half a blessing and that’s okay. That does not mean that we’re going to keep doing it since it’s convenient. Rather we are going to pick ourselves up and build focus. I know, it’s hard, but what you’re not changing, you’re choosing, so remember that the next time you want to procrastinate.
