Appreciate the small things

(A practice piece of just trying to absorb the colours from the reference instead of focusing too much over the details of the artwork).

Sometimes all it takes is a literal shift in perspective, a tilt on how to view the world. This tilt is especially needed when everything loses meaning, for monotony cannot solve itself and no form of alteration in a routine will help unless it has value.

Perhaps the best moment to strike this circle of change would be when life gets dry and pale. A clear-cut way of doing so is by intently thinking outside the box, which is never a one-day process. Although this requires identifying, nurturing, refining and then displaying, once this change is set in stone, no form of rain, flood or drought can shift it back to dullness.

For within our minds, we allow its expansion to think beyond the ordinary and look behind the seen. This eventually results in a sense of gratitude and appreciation that the mundane cannot break. And that is a road that only a few choose to take.

PS: This lesson is something that I had learned during my initial days of creating where I would be exhausted after a session of writing or drawing for there are only so many monumental successes to record and so simple contentment really had to kick in before I could create with more fuel.
